Our Mission
Post Hurricane Sandy, Urban grew out of a love of trees and a passion to repurpose and reinvent. At its heart, Urban is a team with a steadfast focus on hand crafting sustainable products that are as beautiful in their newly refined state as they were in their former lives. We believe in creating new stories from old ones, intermingling the past and the future, and breathing new life where others thought life was gone.

Urban prides itself on its dynamic trade partnerships, ranging from architects, designers, decorators, developers and other real estate professionals. cabinetmakers, contractors, flooring professionals and fine woodworking craftsmen and carpenters.
We also will sell directly to DIY end-users who build as a hobby or are refurbishing environments or elements themselves.

With our trade partners, there always is a vision and many times plans and specs to follow. Our job is to consult to ascertain the best materials to use, make suggestions to improve the project and ultimately deliver the materials or finished piece that will delight clients, solidify your relationships and generate future referrals. Consumers who chose to work with Urban generally need more guidance in their choices.
During this process we will walk you through our lumber warehouse to discuss different species and allow you a hands-on approach in selecting your wood. We will answer questions about figure and form, grain patterns, texture and color variations in order to determine which variety is best for your project.
Whether we are providing the best raw wood materials to trade partners or crafting finished elements like: a restaurant bar top for your clients to host their customers, a conference table where colleagues and employees discuss new ventures, a dining table to be used as a central family meeting point for homework, meals and story sharing, or anything and everything in between, we delight in creating functional art that our trade partners and your clients adore.
