We offer commercial and residential saw milling services

Urban Specialty Woods offers milling services onsite at our yard or your location. We have two saw mills, a Wood-Mizer LT40 and a Lucas 8-30 slabbing mill.

Our Wood-Mizer LT40 is a fully computerized, fully hydraulic mill, that can handle 36″ diameter logs up 27 feet long. The Computer system accurately controls the blade height on the sawmill to within 1/16th inch increments. The thin kerf offers more lumber.

Our Lucas 8-30 Slabbing Mill mills large diameter logs, up 62″ in diameter. This allows us to provide for a spectrum of woodworking needs.

Our Portable Mill Gives New Life to Downed Trees

If you have a downed tree or are planning to remove a tree from your property but can’t bear to see it turned into firewood, there is another solution. We can turn the tree into usable lumber.

We specialize in the tree-to-table creative and can help your favorite family tree to continue to live on in a new life. The process takes time and patience as the wood needs to properly air and kiln dry, but it is always worth the wait.

Our Versatile Mill is Ideal for Large Scale Log Processing

If you are processing downed trees or clearing an area for new construction, our versatile and portable mill can process your logs into usable slabs and dimensional lumber.

A member of our team will meet with you to determine the usability of the material and to discuss what your plan is with the recycled material. We will provide advice on the best way utilize the logs and maximize their value.
